'As the Father is in the Son and the Son in the Father, we live to be one with God in the Holy Spirit — a life of prayer, worship, and love calling every soul into divine union.'

His divine power has given us everything
needed for life and godliness…

2 Peter 1:3

St Enoch and St Elijah Monastery (SEASEM) carries a charism to teach and minister sanctification for doing the will of God perfectly. Each teaching video flows from our life of prayer and divine encounter. Through these teachings, you are invited to enter the Gospel of Jesus Christ through the grace of Theosis — our union with God through Christ Jesus by the Holy Spirit. We draw from the Orthodox tradition and saints, including the Philokalia and the Jesus Prayer to help you enter into the contemplative and sanctifying life in your everyday. Sit with us in stillness, listen to the Word, and let the work of the Holy Spirit draw your soul into the love of the Father through our Saviour, Jesus Christ.

BOOKS

The book for every believer who seeks to study the word of God, to know God, to learn from Jesus, and to be inspired into personal revelation and moved by the Holy Spirit towards Christification, is the Holy Bible. Books written and published by Saint Enoch and Saint Elijah Monastery (SEASEM) are always offered in companionship to God’s first book. They are written for the student of theosis as well as for the Christian wanting to deepen their relationship with God and their prayer life. Drawing on Orthodox deification theology, they are true to the Gospel of Jesus Christ, while bearing witness to the personal and direct experience of God and God’s ministries. By the Lord’s grace, readers of faith will find their souls uplifted and moved in their divine ascent through these ecumenical offerings.

…and you show that you are a letter of Christ…written not with ink but with the Spirit of God…

MONASTERY RETREATS

You are invited to withdraw from the noise of the world and rediscover the stillness where God speaks. Sink into prayer, scripture, and silence, as you encounter the Holy Trinity and rest in the presence of Christ here in Northland, New Zealand.

St Karas Cottage is open to all Christians who are called to come apart from the world alone or in a group retreat. Surrounded by forest and birdsong, the monastery offers a stillness borne of the contemplative life that nourishes the soul. The cottage and monastery whole is a place where the heart may listen, and the Spirit may renew.

Come, be restored in His peace

‘The whare is a sanctuary. I am almost a new person, finding what I didn’t know I was looking for and filled with thankfulness. May the Lord doubly multiply the fruits of your efforts and the many seeds sown bring forth an abundant harvest in due course.’

‘Nga mihi nui i te whare nei. Such a lovely peaceful cottage and setting.’

‘A true respite. Perfect, comfortable stay. In more ways than one I received food for my soul.’

‘Thank you. We felt truly at home here in this sacred place. And it will always hold a special place in our hearts.’

      PRAYER

Prayer is a place of communion with God – both a call and a response. We honour God with the pure praise of our hearts as we reach for Christ in the Gospel, and we are transformed. Our soul is renewed by the Holy Spirit, redeemed by Christ and united to the will of the Father upon whose promises we stand. Under God’s providence, our eternal communion with God’s love is borne out through praise, repentance and grace-filled prayer. Prayer is our answer to God’s invitation to stand before God in love. As we come softly and pure heartedly into that divine communion, we find that God, in mercy for us, answers every prayer.

Every prayer received is held before the altar and offered in the day’s liturgical prayer.

If in my name you ask me for anything,
I will do it
.
